When we become moms life changes. It really does. However, that does not mean that you stop being a woman. Becoming a mom is a hard journey. Nonetheless, it is really worth it. You know who else is worth it? You are.
We go through a lot. First, we are pregnant. That breaks down into at least three categories. The first category is the morning sickness. Then there is the second “ouch” category where we can’t really move well. Of course, there is the third category. It is the moment of wow, I actually will have a baby.
One day not taking care of yourself becomes a habit. Let's break that habit together.
By and by, there is a lot more that goes into it. These are just scratching the surface. We all know that. Then we go through through the actual delivery… Should we mention the recovery?
Well, let’s just say that during all those times we focus on surviving. Then once the baby is here we focus on surviving plus taking care of baby. Looking good is not something big on our minds. It is usually the last thing on our minds. Then one day it becomes a habit. A habit of not taking care of ourselves. Let’s break that habit together.
Yes, it is difficult to be a mom. It is also difficult to find time for yourself. However, I do believe that it is very important to do so.
One of the most important things you can do for your baby is to start taking care of yourself. You are worth it and you deserve it. It is never too late to start.
Personally, it took me over six months to start really paying attention to how I looked. One day, I just realized that wearing my husband’s shirts and sweat pants wasn’t what I really wanted.
What I really wanted was to look good. Really good. And another thing I realized was that I really wanted it for myself. It made me happy when I did.
So, what is stopping you from taking the giant leap forward and starting to take care of yourself? I know, having a baby really depletes your bank of self-care motivation. It even depletes having a bank of any kind of energy to do anything that involves YOU.
Just start today. One little step at a time.
One of the best ways to cross that threshold of not caring for yourself is to just start. One little thing at a time. It doesn’t have to be a day-long event at the spa. And it doesn’t even have to be thirty minutes in front of the mirror.
All you need is to push yourself just a little – tiny bit – to do something small for yourself today. Yes, today. Not tomorrow. And certainly not next month.
Below I will show you a very quick make up routine that you can perform in under 15 minutes. Give yourself the permission to start taking care of yourself. You can modify the routine to make it even easier. Just start today. You deserve to take care of yourself. You are many things, including being a woman.
Give yourself the permission to start taking care of yourself. One little step at a time.
It literally took me just a few minutes to get the look you see in the picture above. Let’s check out what to use. And in what order to apply the products to get the best results.
Sunscreen is the first step
If you do nothing else, please put some sunscreen on. The one I recommend is truly perfect. Not only was it recommended to me by a good dermatologist, but it also has anti-aging ingredients in it. This means that you are helping your skin stay looking younger longer.
The sunscreen I recommend is also great for all skin types. It is perfect to go under your make up as the first layer. Click on the link below to view it:

Dr Schrammek Blemish Balm Classic Regulating
Dr. Schrammek Regulating Care Blemish Balm Classic This is one of my top make up foundations that I highly recommend. You can apply it really fast all over the face. It is also perfect for under the eyes and on the eye lids. It won’t hurt your eyes. It lasts all day. This foundation is truly amazing.
What comes out of the tube looks much darker than my skin tone. However, when I spread it around it becomes one of the truest to tone foundations that I have ever come across.
There are many colors available so you can really find one that will work best for your skin type.
I use my fingers to apply this foundation. It makes it fast and easy.
This foundation is super easy to apply. It also helps to heal the blemishes.
Next step... nothing... or...
If you just start with these two options: sunscreen and make up foundation you will already be one huge step ahead.
You can apply this foundation under your eyes and on your eyelids.
Why? Well, this automatically gives you that shading that contouring accomplishes. Because of the natural shadows of the eyelids and around the face, applying this foundation accentuates them without really having to add anything else.
You will, literally, seem as if you have eye shadow on when all there is to it is the foundation.
If you have a little more energy for yourself...
If you need to stop at the steps above, know that it is fine. When I first started taking the steps to taking care of myself post partum, that was all that I could do. Before you know it, there will be a little more energy inside of you to take a little more time for yourself.
Once you have that little bit of energy, I recommend applying the following products.
Maybelline The Citykits Urban Light
Eye and Cheek Palette
Maybelline The Citykits Urban Light Eye and Cheek Palette is one of those make up kits that has everything. You have the eye and the blush. The best part is that you can use the blush on your eye lids, too.
It takes very little time and you have yourself a nice make up for the day. Best of all, you start feeling good. There is nothing better out there than the feeling of life inside your veins. While we all are different, we all want to feel good. Especially true when we have children.
